MCC Colorado City student named 2025 All-Arizona Academic Team member

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College would like to congratulate Colorado City campus student Morgan Knudson for being selected to represent the College as a 2025 All-Arizona Academic Team member.

All-Arizona Academic Team members in the transfer category receive a full-tuition scholarship to any public university in Arizona after they graduate from MCC. The scholarship covers resident tuition for 10 consecutive undergraduate semesters or 60 credits for the fall and spring semesters.

Knudson was surprised to have received the scholarship and is excited for what it means for her future goals.

“I was shocked and so excited to receive the All Arizona Academic Team Scholarship to support my pursuit of higher education,” she said. “Finances have definitely been a struggle, which is why I must work full time in addition to my classes. Any extra help is greatly appreciated and utilized.”

Knudson is pursuing her associate degree in education while also taking social and behavioral science courses. She chose to pursue this degree because she sees that there’s a need for special education teachers in her community.

“I want to serve my community and local schools through speech and language intervention to help those who need extra support, so they can communicate and comprehend in order to succeed academically and socially,” she said.

After graduating from MCC, she plans to transfer to Northern Arizona University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology. Knudson’s ultimate career goal is to become a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist.

Knudson decided to attend MCC because her family and friends suggested she start her educational journey here before transferring to a university. The College strives to make sure students find their career paths or progress to achieve more advanced degrees.

She said the value she found from attending MCC is the community support and how it helps students find a fitting career path.

Knudson has lived in the Colorado City area all her life. She enjoys spending time with her family, sewing, journaling, reading and much more. Knudson graduated from Centennial Academy. While going to school she was able to focus on her studies and obtain a job as a speech and language pathologist assistant.
